Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you type a name or a date of birth into a search tool on this site, your input goes straight to the outside provider that runs that search. The provider processes it and returns whatever it finds. We do not log or store the terms you enter.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we keep the message so we can write back. It stays inside our organization. We do not pass it to anyone outside unless a legal obligation forces us to.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each page load records a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device is using
- The browser you opened and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- Which pages you viewed and how long each one stayed open
- The site that referred you, when there is one
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, the small files a browser stores on your device. They help us see how visitors move through the pages and which sections get the most attention. Analytics services roll that traffic into aggregate numbers. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some parts of the site may respond differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
The information we collect serves a short list of purposes:
- Keep the site online and loading quickly
- Route your search request to the correct partner service
- Learn which pages readers find useful and which need work
- Find and repair technical problems
- Display advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or warrant records. It publishes general guidance about where Bay County warrant records are kept and how to check them with the 74th District Court, the sheriff's office, or the state case search. Public records held by Michigan agencies are governed by the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231, and court files by Michigan Court Rule 8.119. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Whatever you type into one of those boxes is handled under the partner's own privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own rules for retention and sharing, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to sheriff's office pages, court portals, state agencies, legal aid groups, and outside search tools. Following one of those links takes you away from this site. From that point, the destination's privacy policy governs what happens to your information. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners may follow your activity across sites to serve targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A few categories of information may reach:
- Search partners that run the queries you start here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on these pages
- Law enforcement or a government body when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
We follow ordinary security practices to guard what we collect. No site connected to the internet is untouchable, though. We do what we reasonably can to keep information safe, and we cannot promise that a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Your rights over records held by public agencies come from Michigan law rather than from this site. The Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231, states the policy of open access to public records, MCL 15.233 sets out how a person may inspect and copy them, and MCL 15.243 lists the exemptions that can keep a record closed. Those provisions apply to public bodies, not to a private site like this one. When it comes to data we hold about you, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Request that we delete your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site evolves. A revised version replaces this one on the same page, with a new effective date at the bottom. Check back if you want to follow how visitor information is handled.
